Granny’s Old fashioned Recipe Ad

Granny’s Old fashioned Recipe Ad

Here’s an interesting direct response ad I cut out recently. I think this ad will do very well.

After all who couldn’t relate to the story it tells?

The word pictures the ad conjures up in your mind as you read it. Granny cooking in the kitchen. Wholesome nutritious meals. Good food. And now you can have the same recipes.

Plus there are the usual guarantee, price discount and free bonus.

Yep, I think this ad is a winner.

What do you think?

Until next time

Mark

It looks like there is one error in the ad.

In the third paragraph it says “My husband and I.”

If you look at the picture of the book in the ad, it says by Bill Habets.

That questions the credibility of the ad. Is the author really the wife? If yes, then who is Bill? Did the copywriter just make up the story to get attention?

I recently came across a very similar ad in the newspaper. It was a full page ad with the same old fashioned values and style, may even be same product. I thought it was quite strange and out of place - who in this day would be interested in old recipes from another era? And would anybody even read this ad? I admit it did get my attention - purely because it looked so out of place. I guess that was the intention - bingo!
